Indicates the position of swing and lift bridges that have to be moved for navigation.

Cafe

Cash Machine

Caution
Used to warn the navigator that extra care should be taken. For example low bridges, open weirs, tight turns etc.

Disabled facilities
Moorings reserved for the disabled for example

Eating Place
Shows the location of Restaurants and Take Aways.

Elsan Point
Elsan disposal facilities will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used when only Elsan disposal is available.

Fuel Available
Sellers of diesel and petrol will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available products. This icon is used when only fuel is sold.

Gas For Sale
Sellers of gas will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available products. This icon is used when only gas is sold.

Junction

Launderette
This facility will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used when a launderette is located separately.

Lock
The icon shows the position and direction of locks along the waterway. Additional information appears in the description panel when you click on the icon.

Medical Resource
Indicates where services such as doctors surgeries, hospitals, chemists and pharmacies are located.

Moorings
Both official and unofficial mooring spots are shown on the guides. Details, such as the mooring duration if known, appear in the description panel when you click on the icon.

Not Recommended
Predominantly applied to food establishments such as Pubs, Restaurants, Take Aways and Shops. Food hygiene ratings are now being added to all guides. This icon is used when food hygiene ratings are 2 or below.

Pet Resources
Pet shops, vets and grooming services.

Postal Resources
Indicates the location of Post Offices and Post Boxes.

Provisions
Shows the location of stores, supermarkets, newsagents, farm shops etc.

Public House
Pubs that are close to the waterways are shown.

Pump Out
This facility will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used when only pump out is available.

Recommended
Used when we receive more than one personal recommendation for one of the points of interest in a guide.

Refuse Disposal
This facility often appears under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used for stand alone disposal points.

Repairs & Maintenance
This facility will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used when a boatyard provides Repairs & Maintenance services only.

Traders/Floating Markets
This shows the location of authorised canal trading boats and floating markets. Click on the icon for more details.

Services
Used to show the location of marinas, boatyards and sanitary stations where multiple services are available. Details of the services and facilities at that location appear in the description panel when you click on the icon. Links to that marina or boatyard web site are also often included for obtaining contact details if you need them.

Solid Fuel Available
Sellers of coal, wood and kindling will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available products. This icon is used when only solid fuel is sold.

Transport Connection
Indicates the location of railway stations and useful bus stops. Additional service details may appear in the description panel when you click on the icon.

Toilets
This facility will normally appear under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used when only toilets are available.

Useful Information
This might be navigational information or may highlight specific points of interest like a Visitor Centre for example.

Water Point
This facility often appears under the 'Services' flag icon, listed along with the other available facilities. This icon is used for stand alone water points.

Winding Hole
Shows official and unofficial locations where you can turn your boat. If the dimension is less than full length for that waterway, this is usually indicated in the description.
